Day 51
Oct. 13: Our Week A Year cyclists finished their tour on the auspicious day of Friday the 13th. Their shorter ride from Beaufort, SC, into Savannah left them time to shower at Fitness on Broughton before catching a shuttle back to Wilmington.
Day 52
Oct. 14: A day off for River Relay riders gave us more time to enjoy Savannah. We enjoyed a casual three-mile ride from Forsyth Park to Service Brewing via the city's historic district. Inside the brewery, Dennis (who's missing his early morning basketball workouts back home) cross-trained at the ping-pong table with support driver Alan Fitton.

Day 53
Oct. 15: After walking, biking, paddling, and picnicking today in Savannah, we sent off two new River Relay riders — Atiba Mbiwan, a new member of our Board of Trustees, and Nedra Deadwyler — bound for Hinesville, GA.

The East Coast River Relay team was greeted like celebrities on the dock at Fernandina Beach, Florida, after riding a ferry across Cumberland Sound from St. Marys, Georgia.
Day 55
Oct. 17: We enjoyed a bike ride in St. Marys, Georgia, before hopping on a water taxi for Amelia Island, Florida. A contingent of greenway advocates met us on the docks there and, led by Friends of Amelia Trail CEO Phil Scanlan, treated us to lunch and talks about trails and greenway expansion.

Day 56
Our cyclists, Jim and Mike, rode from Fernandina Beach to Neptune Beach. In the afternoon, we gathered in Jarboe Park to dedicate the newest section of East Coast Greenway with Neptune Beach Vice Mayor Scott Wiley, Mayor Elaine Brown, and Florida Greenway Coordinator Paul Haydt.

Day 57
Oct. 19: Our cyclists Mike Pakula and Jim Ingham enjoyed their cycling today, especially visiting the sights in St. Augustine: Castillo de San Marcos, the Bridge of Lions, and the lighthouse. In Jacksonville, we joined a bike rodeo to launch the Urban Bike Team program at Matthew Gilbert Middle School.
