Please join us for a 24-mile, guided bike ride on the Manhattan east side East Coast Greenway and bike paths through Brooklyn's Red Hook and Park Slope neighborhoods!
MAIN START: am Glick Park @ the Con Ed pier uptown of park (park is closed for repairs (summer 2019). SECOND START: 9:45 am @ Under the Manhattan Bridge at entrance to bike lane, Brooklyn. We will meet with Manhattan riders here and leave by 10:00am. FINISH: Glick Park @ the Con Ed pier uptown of park (park is closed for repairs, summer 2019). The route will head south from the starting point down to the Manhattan Bridge, over the bridge to where we will pick up additional riders from Brooklyn, down Jay Street's bike path to Brooklyn Bridge Park's lovely new bike path, through Red Hook to the Erie Basin Pinnesula. Then we will head east over 9th Street Bridge to Prospect Park, loop around park, go past the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and return to the Manhattan Bridge. Those returning to Manhattan will ride back across the Manhattan Bridge to Glick Park Con Ed pier again. We intend to make stops at several locations along the route to discuss notable parks and landmarks including several photo opps. The ride will proceed at an easy-going pace of 10 - 13 MPH. Please bring what you'll need such as water, snacks, a spare tire, and PLEASE wear a helmet. We usually ride rain or shine but if the weather is particularly unpleasant, you will receive a cancellation email by 7 AM on the day of the ride.
