Update: Cross-Triangle Greenway Ride Cancelled
Due to expected thunderstorms throughout the Triangle on Saturday, and with the safety of our participants being the East Coast Greenway’s top priority, we made the tough decision to cancel the Cross-Triangle Greenway Ride. The ride will not be rescheduled.
Our staff and partners have worked diligently to plan and execute a fun event for more than 210 riders showcasing our world-class greenways in the Triangle. However, the safety of all involved is what’s most important, and the predicted severe weather makes for potentially dangerous riding conditions.
We’re disappointed to cancel this year’s ride and remain grateful for your interest in and support of this event. For all registered riders, we are offering the following:
The chance to pick up your T-shirt (now a collector’s item!) and enjoy a sweet treat on the East Coast Greenway Alliance at one of three locations (we will be in touch with dates and times): Transfer Co. Food Hall in Raleigh, Dulce Cafe in Durham and Cary (location TBD).
A $20 credit to a future East Coast Greenway-owned event. More details will be announced soon on upcoming rides, runs and more in the Triangle and beyond. We’ll provide a promo code.
As outlined in our previous communications, there is no rain date for the Cross-Triangle Greenway Ride. In cases of severe weather, the East Coast Greenway Alliance reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the ride for safety concerns. Ride fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to other riders. Cyclists may claim their registration fee as a tax-deductible donation to the nonprofit East Coast Greenway Alliance.
Thank you for your understanding and support of the East Coast Greenway Alliance. Here’s to a great summer on the Greenway!
