The Bronx River Alliance's Greenway Team is hosting a friendly 23-mile ride along the Bronx River Greenway. Ride along New York City's only freshwater river from the estuary of the Bronx River in Soundview, to its source at the Kensico Dam in Westchester County. The ride will begin at Sounview Park Field House (located near the corner of Lafayette Ave & Colgate Ave) at 9:30 am and will include two rest stops before reaching the Kensico Dam in Westchester County, where we will have lunch at aproximately 1 pm.
Participants can also partake in the return trip to the Soundview Park Field House, where we will arrive at approximately 6 pm, depending on our pace, or exit the ride whenever or wherever safe and convenient. Keep in mind that the return trip will mark a total of 46 miles.
About two-thirds of the ride will take place on protected bicycle paths. However, the ride will also include navigating streets with vehicles, and so we recommend this ride for adult riders that are comfortable sharing traffic on a city street.
