Next week, the East Coast Greenway Alliance staff is taking a short 6-mile trip north on the American Tobacco Trail segment of the East Coast Greenway to its new office space in vibrant downtown Durham.
Located at 123 West Main Street, a historic building owned by Self-Help Credit Union, the Alliance’s new headquarters will still be located directly on the Greenway route. Many staff members will enjoy safe walking and biking commutes to the new office, which also will offer quick access to public transportation - via both bus and regional Amtrak - and bicycle rentals.
“While the Alliance has enjoyed 13 outstanding years in South Durham, it will be great to be more fully integrated into the heart of our headquarters’ city of Durham,” said Executive Director Dennis Markatos-Soriano. “With community being one of the Alliance’s guiding principles, our local staff members are excited to be based downtown in close proximity to local government leadership, partner organizations and all that the amazing City of Durham has to offer.”
The Alliance signed a 5-year lease at the new office location.
