Jupiter Riverwalk

Jupiter Inlet Bridge & Riverwalk

Jupiter FL Map

Why This Is A Priority

A new half-mile pedestrian path on the U.S. Highway 1 bridge is a key upgrade to Florida’s East Coast Greenway, creating an important link between Jupiter, Tequesta, and more than four miles of connected trails and sidepath in Palm Beach County. The project will connect to the Jupiter Riverwalk and 2.5 miles of public access along the Intracoastal Waterway and the Jupiter Inlet, offering a scenic highlight along the route. This connection also advances plans for a continuous trail through St. Lucie, Martin and Palm Beach counties, linking more than 10 coastal state, county and local parks — including access toward Jonathan Dickinson State Park, the largest state park in the region.

Jupiter Riverwalk Phase One

The first section runs parallel to the beautiful Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, one of Florida’s best examples of coastal scrub habitat and home to many endangered wildlife species.

Jupiter Riverwalk Phase Two

Built in 2010, the next section of the Riverwalk connects Mangrove Bay to the lagoon bridge. The pedestrian and bicycle bridge crosses a gorgeous and tranquil lagoon affording walkers and cyclists views of the intracoastal and lagoon to the east.

Jupiter Inlet Bridge

The U.S. 1 Bridge reopened in April 2025 with dedicated bike lanes in each direction and sidewalks for safe pedestrian access. The project is expected to be fully complete in early 2026.

Jupiter Riverwalk Final Phase

The final phase of the Riverwalk is to be located along the southern shoreline of the Jupiter Inlet across from the Historic Jupiter Lighthouse, showcasing the best of Florida’s waterfront experience.

About the Jupiter Riverwalk

The Riverwalk is a master-planned, multi-phased recreational corridor that runs primarily along the eastern shoreline of the Intracoastal Waterway from the Jupiter Ridge Natural Area north to the Jupiter Inlet. Upon completion, the Jupiter Riverwalk will, via a multi-use ADA compliant trail, provide public access to approximately 2.5 miles of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Jupiter Inlet. The Riverwalk will traverse many types of upland communities including environmentally sensitive lands, residential, marinas and commercial properties, as well as waterfront parks.

About the Jupiter Inlet Bridge

The U.S. 1 Bridge fully reopened in April 2025, in its final configuration after two years of construction and anticipation. The bridge now has two travel lanes in each direction, dedicated bike lanes in each direction and sidewalks for safe pedestrian access. This major upgrade boosts safety, mobility and connectivity for the whole community.
