Ride the State: Connecticut is more than a ride — it’s a chance to experience the East Coast Greenway while helping bring it closer to completion.
This fully supported, 67-mile adventure travels from New Haven to Hartford along scenic, mostly flat, paved trails, including newly completed sections. With rest stops, lunch and on-route support, you can focus on enjoying the ride and the community around you.
Along the way, you’ll experience the impact of projects like the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail and Hartford Connector — and be part of the movement to connect Connecticut’s 204-mile Greenway, now 54% complete.
Finish the day with a convenient return via the CTrail Hartford Line — and a memorable glimpse of what a fully connected Greenway can be.
Ride Information
Join us for the 16th annual Ride the State: From the Boathouse to the Statehouse on June 27, 2026.
This popular, limited-capacity ride (200 participants) returns with an updated 67-mile route from the Canal Dock Boathouse in New Haven to Connecticut’s Old Statehouse in Hartford. Wheels roll at 8 a.m., with riders arriving in Hartford by late afternoon and the option to return via the CTRail Hartford Line.
Following the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail and Hartford Connector, the route highlights key gaps still to be completed while showcasing newly finished sections in Simsbury and Bloomfield. Expect a smooth, mostly flat ride with a midday lunch stop, additional rest stops and full on-route support.
