Join the East Coast Greenway Alliance for a fun and meaningful event to kick off Bike Month in South Durham — celebrating the first year of the Greenway Bike Bus to Southwest Elementary! This spring celebration will feature a brief gathering followed by a less-than-one-mile group bike ride and walk to school along the Greenway. Together, we’ll celebrate the success of the Bike Bus and support a healthy, happy, safe and sustainable community for all — especially our youngest riders.
Event Details
Who: Participants include 60+ Greenway Bike Bus kids and parents, School Board member Gabby Rivero, Principal Rotosky, Southwest Elementary PTA and many more
What: A spring celebration of year one of the Greenway Bike Bus and biking and walking to school, including a gathering and then a less than a mile bike ride and walk to school
When: 6:45 a.m.-7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, to celebrate National Bike & Roll to School Day
Where: Gather in the courtyard at Woodcroft Medical Center (5501 Fortunes Ridge Dr, Durham, NC 27713) before riding, walking or rolling to Southwest Elementary on the East Coast Greenway/American Tobacco Trail
Why: For a healthy, happy, safe and sustainable community for all, especially our youngest!
