Welcome to the new greenway.org
With a significantly enhanced online experience for both explorers and advocates, the East Coast Greenway Alliance today launched its redesigned website, greenway.org.
Vermilion Design + Digital, a Boulder, Colorado–based creative agency and certified B Corp, partnered with the Alliance to reimagine and strengthen its digital presence.
“We know people come to greenway.org to plan their East Coast Greenway adventures. With this redesign, we’re also highlighting the critical ongoing work to advance the trail, while offering efficient tools and resources for trip planning,” said Alliance Senior Director, Marketing and Communications John Martin.
“Vermilion did an outstanding job helping us speak to the Greenway’s varied audiences. The new site is both highly functional and visually compelling, and I’m excited for our supporters to explore it.”

Highlights of the Alliance’s first major website redesign since 2017 include:
- A new “Advancing the Greenway” section, showcasing the important work being done by Alliance staff and partners to complete the East Coast Greenway. Here you’ll find important updates on ongoing projects, trail-building resources and much more.
- A streamlined “Explore the Greenway” section, featuring more user-friendly state pages, new regional pages, trip-planning resources and itineraries for exploring the Greenway.
- Updated state, regional and national maps designed by our longtime mapping partner GreenInfo Network
- A bold new home for Alliance-produced photo and video content.
- A significantly improved experience for mobile website users.
- A robust online donation hub detailing the variety of ways Greenway explorers can become supporters for continued development of the East Coast Greenway.

The site redesign was informed by the Alliance’s thorough strategic planning process in 2025, as well as in-depth planning sessions for staff and volunteer leadership led by Vermilion.
The updated look of the website is warm, scenic and welcoming — built on the old brand but with a fresh, explorer’s vibe. Soft serif fonts and rich photography highlight the people and places that make the trail feel like home.
