June through September is hot and humid with high temps averaging between 86-103 degrees. Winters (December – February) are mild with high temperatures averaging around 60. Precipitation is abundant year round.

The completed trail segments in South Carolina can accommodate a variety of users, as listed in the table below. However, because 11% of the route through the state is still on road, we recommend that only experienced road bicyclists plan to travel the entire route. We will provide more details about the non-designated segments as soon as possible.

In-line skaters: Trail conditions are variable, and even paved portions aren’t always smooth. We have attempted to note portions that are questionable for skating, but please be prepared to walk or go around certain portions of trail.
