South Carolina Committee for the East Coast GreenwayThe South Carolina Committee for the ECG consists of volunteers who coordinate route selection and undertake our advocacy efforts to move the Greenway ahead in the state. By building support and partnerships with citizens, public agencies, and organizations at the local and state levels, the South Carolina Committee is helping to get the ECG on the ground, mile by mile. News & EventsOn June 5th, 2008, the East Bay Street Bicycle Pedestrian Path in Charleston officially opened. The path connects to the Ravenel Bridge, which crosses the Cooper River into Mount Pleasant. is nearing completion and is already seeing a lot of usage by cyclists, runners and walkers. At the Grand Opening, Mayor Riley announced the City’s intention to become a nationally recognized Bicycle Friendly Community as designated by the League of American Bicyclists.
