The East Coast Greenway traverses one of our nation's most densely populated regions and is accessible by people of all ages and ability levels. Here, trail users enjoy an outing along the Hudson River Greenway on Manhattan's West Side.
The East Coast Greenway Alliance needs your help to advance the East Coast Greenway vision! Now 20 percent complete, this "urban Appalachian Trail" will connect eastern cities for pedestrians, bicyclists, in-line skaters, wheelchair athletes, equestrians and other non-motorized users.
When complete, the Greenway will provide trail enthusiasts a way to travel between towns and cities on the East Coast along a continuous, green route and will pass by the doorsteps of over 30 million Americans as it winds its way from Key West, Fla. to the Canadian border of Maine. The ECG, and its constituent trails, have the potential to improve public health, lessen roadway congestion, and bring economic benefits to the communities along the Greenway corridor. Please support our efforts to build an American legacy. Here are four ways!
1. Become a member! An increasing membership strengthens our voice as we call for trail development from Maine to Florida.2. Join the Close the Gaps Club! (To learn more about the Club, click here.)
3. Sponsor a mile of trail! ECG mile sponsors have the option of having their names or short inscriptions posted on plaques along the trail, in the state(s) of their choice, while providing needed operating funds to the Alliance.
4. Buy ECG merchandise! We offer a wide variety of clothes and gift items, including selection of trail maps for ECG segments in several states. These make great gifts - and are conversation starters on the trail.
5. Make a contribution to the ECGA. Don't want to be a member? Not interested in sponsoring trail, or owning ECG products? This option allows you to make a straight contribution: no strings, no gifts in return, just funding that we need to develop the trail connecting cities.
6. ECGA Wish List. We're often in need of office supplies and equipment. Check the list to see if you have something we could use.
