ECG momentum has picked up considerably in recent years in North Carolina. The American Tobacco Trail in Durham County and the Dunn-Erwin Trail in Harnett County are both parts of the Greenway, as are the Ellerbee Creek Trail and South Ellerbee Creek Trail.

Most recently, the first phase of Fayetteville's Cape Fear River Trail opened for public use. The 3.7-mile segment winds through wooded land adjacent to the Cape Fear River and extends from Methodist College in the north to Clark Park in the South. A second phase will connect Clark Park to the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. When complete the trail will span approximately eight miles.

We are presently seeking individuals who are interested in serving on the ECGA's state committee in North Carolina. Anyone interested should contact Bill Bussey, the state committee chair.
